Kayaks
|
NDK Explorers - NDK is our first choice. We are using Nigel's kayaks for years now. It looks like the quality control was improve,
we had no licks to any of the compartments throughout the entire expedition. The kayaks excel when loaded.

Paddles
|
Lendal Paddles - Great paddles, strong and light. We used Kinetic and Nordcapp and were happy with both.
|
|
Spraydeck
|
Snap Dragon - We used "Ocean Tour EXP Reinforced". Great decks, keeps water out of the cockpit.
even in the surf. The tube material was changed and it is easier to wear.

Paddling clothes
|
We are using different brands. We suggest to use a good thermal, dry (or semi dry) top that can open widely to allow breeze when the sun goes out.
Reed is a good example.

Mattresses
|
Therm-a-Rest - self-inflating ProLite mattresses were a great relief after the long paddling days.
They are compact and comfortable. Nothing to compare to the foam pads.

Tent
|
Staika by Hilleberg - Installation of this tent is made in one go,
both to the inner and out parts which make it easy to put up. It is possible to do it separatly to prevent the inner part getting wet.
The tent can stand very strong winds and rough rain with out any problems. It is a bit big (as expected from such tent), but we are paddlers
and don't need to carry it on our backs.

GPS
|
This time we have used a see-through bag to protect the "waterproof" GPS. We used Garmin and Magellan,
both basic, non map GPS
to keep us on track. We were happy, but it takes some time for both GPS's to lock on the satellites - it is a bit annoying - but it
is probably something that all GPS's suffers from.

Stove
|
WhisperLite by MSR - The stove was problematic and forced us to constantly fix it... but we never had a cold meal. The pump failed and we needed to get a new one
which MSR provided free of charge. We still did not find a stove which can work well under salty and sandy conditions for too long.
Service was excellent!
